TALENT APPLICATION INFO!

Background Artists Rules and Regulations
1. Do not commit to a film booking unless you are 100% available and have the complete day and/or night free.
(Never ask when filming will wrap because no one knows as delays from unforeseen events can have an impact
on the shooting schedule)
2. Always show up on time. In the event of an emergency, you must call the office to let them know. If you do not
show up on set and you did not call the office, you will be removed from our system and will not be eligible to work
with us for a period of 1 year. Emergencies are only real emergencies. Family death, extreme sickness and or car
accidents are examples of obvious emergencies. Hopefully you will not be in a car accident while driving to set,
but if you are, we would request to see a police report for verification. We have a zero tolerance policy.
3. Always have a pen with you on set to fill out vouchers and forms that production needs you to complete. They
are not responsible for providing them for you.
4. Always report with the proper wardrobe that you are asked to bring to set. You simply must follow this rule.
Productions have costumers who are responsible for the look of clothing in the entire film. It’s their job and you
must respect the fact that they were hired to do so.
5. Unless the director or star talent talks to you directly, you are not allowed to approach them for conversation.
Your conversation should be between other background artists and/or the AD (Assistant Director). Assistant
Directors are almost always in charge of Background Performers. They are the ones you check in with when you
get to set and they are the ones you check out with at the end of the shoot.
6. You must always carry valid ID with you to set. You will need them to check in and also to fill out I-9 Employee
verification forms. Acceptable ID’s are Drivers Licenses, Passports or state issued ID cards. You must either carry
your Social Security card with you or have your SS # memorized. You will need it for filling out your vouchers.
7. You must conduct yourself in a professional manner. DO NOT harass other actors, directors, producers or
production assistants. Doing so will bring disciplinary actions. Please do not whine and complain while on set.
You have rights on set and should be treated respectfully. If you are not, you can always call our office first and
then SAG if you are union. Calling must only be for the reason of a production obviously breaking set ethics. For
example, if you are forced to wait outside in the cold, the production should provide and environment for you to be
comfortable in. If the Crafty table does not have your favorite coffee brand, that does not qualify as a reason to call
our office or SAG.
8. You must be groomed, showered and well kempt while working on an AB Casting set. Men should be clean
shaven unless you were specifically cast because of your facial hair.
9. You must check the work line you were given when booked. That work line will have any last minute changes
to your call time. You must check the work line right before bed and first thing in the morning when you wake up.
Call times change all the time on set. Once you are booked on a project, it is your responsibility to check the lines
for any call time changes. Especially on large calls, we do not have the man power to call everyone individually.
Thus, you need to check the work line you were given at time of booking.
10. We are not your employer. The production company is the one in charge of paying you. We do not have
records of employment. We can only verify the dates that you were supposed to work.
